Mason Jar Chalkboard Lids

October 22, 2015

When we moved into our apartment, one of the first DIY projects I completed were these Mason Jar Chalkboard Lids for kitchen organization.  I have half gallon mason jars all over my kitchen storing everything from coffee to flour, clothespins to popcorn (lots of popcorn).  They would also be great to use as office and craft organization!  This DIY is super simple, all you’ll need are a few mason jars with lids, chalkboard paint (I like the one pictured below from the Martha Stewart craft line), a sponge brush and, of course, chalk.

You’ll need about 2-3 coats of the chalkboard paint to conceal the metal lid. Once it’s fully dry grab your chalk and label away!

Enjoy!

    1. Great idea! We also have mason jars all over the place, and I always find myself wondering just what sauce or dressing I have leftover in the fridge… This would definitely be useful!
