First, a bit more on the cabin. We stayed in the cutest cottage, tucked away on Lake Luzerne in upstate New York. It had everything we needed; a warm bed, a fire pit, lake views and, most importantly, no WiFi. Okay, so they did offer WiFi in one specific location under the communal pavilion but we chose to disconnect for the weekend, and it felt good. Before we left for our trip I made a batch of these pumpkin oatmeal breakfast cookies – similar recipe here.
Saturday afternoon we headed about 45 minutes north to North Creek, NY for our railbiking excursion with Revolution Rail Co. During this tour we were able to pedal on a tandem railbike along a historic railroad track in the Adirondacks. It’s about 6 miles round trip and the views of the foliage are awesome. And yes, I may have googled ‘peak fall foliage in North Creek’ to find the best weekend to go. The colors were spectacular and the views over the Hudson River on a trestle bridge are really a must see.
If you’re ever in the area, or looking to plan a weekend away, definitely consider this excursion. Erick and I had so much fun pedaling through the Adirondacks.
